School Aged Child Care
The Foglia YMCA is proud to be working with School District 95 and St. Francis de Sales School to provide quality child care for children in elementary school, kindergarten through fifth grade and at St. Francis, through 6th grade. We have been working with the District for over ten years and are fully licensed by DCFS. The program operates in the District schools Monday through Friday from 6:45–8:20 am and 2:55–6:00 pm. St. Francis does not have before care because of its early start time. The after school program at St. Francis runs Monday through Friday 2:15–6:00 pm. Early dismissal days are included in our program at no extra charge.
The goals of the child care program are:
- To protect and promote the children’s health and safety above all.
- To promote the children’s social and emotional development.
- To provide a nurturing environment, where children can feel comfortable, confident and welcomed.
- To provide the opportunity to succeed, accomplishing goals, completing homework and providing assistance when needed.
- To develop an atmosphere of confidence.
- To instill the YMCA character development values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, while teaching the children the value of a healthy spirit, mind and body.
At Foglia YMCA we understand the needs of our working parents and strive to provide a place for their children to come before and after school where they can play with their friends, be part of a bigger team and build relationships outside of their own grade. We encourage children to complete their homework while in our program by providing quiet work time and assistance where needed. Our program provides a healthy snack each day, as well as physical activities to encourage a healthy lifestyle. Our staff certified in CPR/AED and First Aid training, as well as extensive School Age Child Care training.

Kids Day Off/Early Dismissal
It seems like kids have more days off than they used to with all of the holidays, institute days, early dismissals and so on. If you are looking for a safe, fun and active place to have your children stay on days where school is out, bring them to the Foglia YMCA's Kids Day Off Program!
No more sitting at home stuck in front of the TV or falling into mindless video games for hour upon hour. Here at the Y we keep kids moving with fun activities; such as making your own tie dyed t-shirt, swimming in our pools, playing kickball with friends, making crafts such as play dough and testing our their chef skills with making tasty treats and snacks. Most of our Kids Days Off include a field trip. We have ventured to places like; Lincoln Park Zoo, Barrington Ice Arena, Cuba Marsh Forest Preserve, Jelly Belly Factory and many more. Don’t let your child spend another school day off sitting at home; send them to our Foglia YMCA Kids Day Off Program.
